HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH KIT - DIAPHRAGM TYPE
The diaphragm clutch offers a smoother foot operation and increased longevity over the earlier, spring operated clutch system. Fits 9.5" clutch (BJ8) and can also be installed on earlier Healey models (BN4-BJ7) but some modification is required. We recommend one of the following two methods:
1/ Drill, tap and re-dowel existing flywheel to suit the diaphragm clutch kit. The optimum method would be to utilise the new, diaphragm cover to align the new dowel applications on the existing flywheel.
2/ Install the later, BJ8 type flywheel (available in used format for approximately £120.00 GBP + Vat).
NB: This clutch kit utilises 3 dowels rather than 2 (earlier spring operated clutches) and the dowels are evenly spaced between the mounting bolts. Our part number for the dowel is EN6184.
