This product is manufactured to original BMC, replacement parts specification in aluminium bronze.
This product must be heat expanded to 250 degrees Fahrenheit before it can be fitted. Once heated, the cone can be fitted with a hand press and then immediately quenched in water to prevent the heat softening the gear itself.
Once the cone is in position, the final machining can be done so that the ring tapers, true and concentric with the bore to .001”.
